| What beautiful gilt work done on this
Bavarian coffee pot decorated by Chicago artist Osborne Olsen. Osborne had his
own decorators studio from around 1910 until his death in 1971. You don't find many
pieces done by him and this one is a really fine example of his expert gilt work.
There is a lot of gold on this pot as you can see in the pictures below. There is a
pretty deep blue band on the top of the pot and the lid. This elegant pot stands
9" tall to the top of the finial and is about 9" at its widest (tip of apout to
outside handle). It is in excellent condition with no chips, hairlines or repairs.
We do note an original glaze skip on the edge of the lid that occurred during the
making of the piece. He decorated right over it and it is not even seen when the lid
is sitting on the pot since the rim covers it up. It does not detract from the
beauty of this lovely coffee pot. (Stock # Y 259-4371)
