| Lovely Limoges shallow bowl featuring pink
and white peonies with really beautiful gilt scrollwork decoration. This bowl
matches the celery dish in the next listing. The background color is a pale green
with light blue along the rim. There is gilt sponge work along the rim, some of
which is worn on the high points of the scalloped edge. It is 2" tall and has 9
7/8" diameter. The piece bears the V.F. mark (c. early 1890's) which is listed
in Gaston's Limoges book as an unidentified factory. However, I did see the same
mold design in a chocolate pot marked with the A. Klingenberg mark pictured on page 218 of
Mary Frank Gaston's Third Edition of the Collector's Encylopedia of Limoges
Porcelain. In great condition with no chips, hairlines or repairs just some gold
wear on the rims. (Stock # Y-27-396)
