| Pretty Limoges celery tray featuring pink
and white peonies with really nice gilt scrollwork decoration. The background color
is a pale green with light blue along the rim. There is gilt sponge work along the
rim, some of which is a bit worn a few spots. We could easily see this piece
not only used as a serving dish, but also to hold decorative soaps in the bath. It
measures 12 " long by 5 1/4" wide. The piece bears the V.F. mark (c. early
1890's) which is listed in Gaston's Limoges book as an unidentified factory.
However, I did see the same mold design in a chocolate pot marked with the A. Klingenberg
mark pictured on page 218 of Mary Frank Gaston's Third Edition of the Collector's
Encylopedia of Limoges Porcelain. In great condition with no chips, hairlines or
repairs just some gold wear on the rims. (Stock #
Y-28-376) $165.00
