Here is a darling framed porcelain plaque featuring a handsome young lad wearing a nice green hat. We don't find and artist's signature or a manufacturers mark. We are always amazed when we don't find signatures on well pinted pieces such as this one. It is most likely German and probably dates around 1890's -1915. The frame is a brass-like metal that has embossed garlands of flowers and an easel back. A magnet sticks to the frame so we know it isn't brass. By taking the plaque out of its frame we find that it measures 3 1/4" long by 2 5/8" wide and the only marking on the back is an impressed #15 and what looks like the letter E. Back in the frame the piece measures nearly 3 1/2" long by nearly 2 3/4" long. It is a perfect fit. The plaque is in great condition with no chips, hairlines or repairs. There is slight wear to the brass like finish on the front and sides and there is no brass-like finish left on the very back (Stock # y-369-5) SOLD
